A KTP can help you enhance your career prospects by providing you with an opportunity to manage a challenging project central to a company’s strategic development and
long-term growth.

Through the project you will play a key role in managing and implementing strategic development in a company and transfer knowledge between the business and university or research organisation. As a KTP Associate you will be responsible for implementing your research in a commercial environment with support from experienced staff from the company and the university or research organisation.

You can also gain business-based experience and personal development opportunities. Associates can obtain a nationally recognised management qualification awarded by the Chartered Management Institute.

A project lasts for a period of between 12 and 18 months, with approximately 70% of Associates offered employment by the host company on completion of the project.

As a project follows on from a CASE studentship or a collaborative research grant, it is based on the skills and expertise of the particular post-doc and your name must be included in the KTP Grant Application and approved by the sponsor.
